{Keepsake Hand Print Tutorial} - from baby to big boy!

I love Model Magic!  It's virtually mess free, air dries, and you can color on it.  Last week, I showed you some fun snowmen and snowball fight that my boys did with Model Magic.  This week hand prints!

My sweet baby boy's hand when he was 6 months old. 
This is now 7 years old and it still looks good!

Basic instructions for doing this with your baby, roll out a small piece (the size of your baby's hand) of Model Magic onto a portable surface.  Strap your baby into their highchair! :)  Stretch out their little fingers, put the base of their palm into the clay and then press each finger in quickly.  You may need a video or other distraction to get the job done!  If you mess up, roll it up and start again.  It's very forgiving!

Age range:  I did this with my 6 month old for his hand.  I did his feet when he was an infant.

Now for the Big Boy one!

I was inspired when I saw a great one on Pinterest from Mommy Mucho!  Here is our version:

I traced his hand lines and he added the details.  Age 7.

Roll out your piece of Model Magic and push your child's hand in evenly.

Don't forget to use a straw to make hole in the top before it dries.
Now take a break and let it dry for 24-48 hours, turn it over to make sure the back dries too.

Then we brainstormed ideas of what could be drawn on the snowmen.
I was letting him draw with Sharpies... no room for mistake!

Dried and ready for details!  I used a black Sharpie to trace the outline of his hand.

Make sure you write your name and date on the back for posterity!

Ta da!  Another great keepsake!
