LEGO Magnets DIY

Your boys and boys-at-heart will love you!  LEGO magnets!

Maybe your LEGO enthusiast has seen the LEGO magnets in the catalog.  Here's a simple way to do-it-yourself.

Supplies:

1.  Rare Earth Magnets -  These are very important!  They are SUPER strong!  Regular magnets from the craft store will not work.  I used to buy mine on Etsy, but now have found a reliable vendor on etsy.  Little Purple Dragonfly may even be willing to make a smaller quantity for you, doesn't hurt to ask!
**Rare Earth Magnets are not toys, they need to be kept away from the nose, mouth, ears, and pace-makers.  If you'd like more safety information, click here.

Note:  Someone asked if you can use magnetic tape.  It just doesn't stick well enough.  It will fall off of the plastic and your child will try to pile on tons of LEGOs too!  Make it once, correctly, and you'll have no problems!

2.  E-6000 glue - You need this type of industrial strength glue.  The magnets are so strong they will literally jump out of the glue.  Trust me.  You can purchase it at most craft stores (with a coupon).

3.  Flat LEGO pieces (whatever your child is willing to give up)!

Directions:  Really none, just glue the magnet on the back.  Hardest part is waiting 24 hours for the glue to set!

I am still thinking about this idea. Do you think I could add a link and pic of this on my blog? I would like to include it in a post about ideas for the fridge. Thanks.
