Who doesn't need a LEGO face t-shirt? Your LEGO loving kids will be thrilled!
Materials:
- yellow t-shirt (a lot of craft stores sell them inexpensively)
- matte fabric paint
- foam brush
- freezer paper (magic ingredients!)
- LEGO face stencil (click here for link)
- a piece of cardboard or thick paper to go inside the shirt
--------------
Here are my very basic directions. For more involved instructions, check the blogs at the bottom of this post.

| This is the face pattern we used. Click here for stencil. We omitted the white dot - may have to go back and do that! |
1. Print out your pattern on the computer. Resize if needed to fit your child (or adult) proportionately.
2. Trace onto freezer paper and cut out inside. Make sure you do not cut outside of the lines. You need to poke a hole with your scissors and work from the inside out - make sense?
3. Iron the freezer paper onto the shirt with shiny side down.
4. Place a piece of cardboard inside the shirt where you'll be painting so that the paint doesn't leak through.
5. Paint (I worked from the outside in), my shirts took 2 coats of paint.

6. Wait until dry (if you can) and peel off! Easy as pie!
Tutorial note: I used a separate stencil for each shirt. I think I had the entire shirt done - tracing, cutting, ironing, and painting done in 30 minutes. Yahoo!
Where to purchase freezer paper: Your grocery store should have in the same section as plastic wrap and aluminum foil..
You have Miriam to thank for this tutorial! I posted the above picture on the Busy Kids = Happy Mom Facebook page last week. She patiently waited for me to write this up because she is making them for Father's Day. What an awesome gift!
Background story: I really wanted to make these shirts for my kids before we left on our big airplane trip. Did I? Sort of.... we left for the airport right after a severe storm and tornado warnings. We were told that we wouldn't be able to fly out that night and would have to return in the morning. Bummer....to.......Bonus: I came home to a clean house and all of my things were already packed! So, I could start the shirts! Finally, I could find 30 minutes to get them done! That's all it took! They dried overnight and the boys were thrilled to wear them the next day when we flew out!
