DIY American Girl Doll or 18" Doll School Furniture

1.  Supplies:  2 letter A's, chalkboard, white paint pen, stand,  pink spray paint, wooden round box, wooden plaque, round balls, and felt.  We also used E6000 glue to hold it all together.

Exact dimensions of the one pictured:  plaque (9x7 inches), Letter A (5.5 inches), and stool is 6 inches wide and 2.5 inches tall with ball feet.

2.  Final product!  We modified our chair from  the original directions, but it was easy and turned out great!

3.  Bonus Project:  Chalkboard!  I drew lines with pencil and then wrote the alphabet with the paint pen to look like chalk.

4.  Bonus Felt Board:  Glued a piece of white felt to the back of the chalkboard.  Too cute!

Look what's hiding inside the doll's stool.... glasses, a ball, a small etch-a-sketch, and the felt board pieces!  (glasses and ball at Michaels, etch-a-sketch was a key chain toy found at Five Below)

I had a great time helping my friend make a fun desk set for her daughter's birthday.  She wanted new furniture and found this amazing site that showed us how to do it!  Link to MyFroggyWorld.... if you like DIY projects and have little girls, this will pull you in - great photos and videos!

This is so adorable. I can't find the round box. Where did you buy it?

We watched the video from Froggie and saw they made chairs with backs. Do your dolls sit well on the chair you made? We love the storage idea but are concerned that the dolls will fall over backwards without a back. Do you have that trouble? Thanks for the help!

Hi Friends - Let's see if I can answer some of the questions. The chair (box) was found at JoAnn Fabrics. It's in the wood section. Can a doll sit on it? Yes, but it works best if it's near the wall. :) It's also super for accessory storage.

Have a great day! Kristen @ busykidshappymom.org
