Are you a teacher?
Yep! You can read all about it on my about page. click here
Do you think teaching prepared you to be a mom?
Yes and no. When I was pregnant with my first son, kind people said, “Oh, you’ll be a great mom because you’ve been a teacher.” The problem was, I believed them! Then this little bundle of colic and reflux came into my home and lived with me 24/7 and I knew they were all wrong! One of the benefits of being a teacher and loving children is that you get to spend the day with them and then send them on their way at the end of the day. J
Are your parents teachers (is that why they came up with the Summer Points program)?
My mom was a Learning Disabilities teacher and is a very talented quilter and knitter. My dad is a lawyer. My dad actually created “Points” so that we wouldn't lose school skills over the summer. But, my mom had to make sure it all actually happened.
What types of prizes did you earn as a child?
I can still remember earning my first and only Cabbage Patch Doll!
Can your children do all of the Life Skills and School Skills?
Absolutely not! This is a guide and gives me something to strive for in my home too.
Are you an English teacher?
No. Writing is not my thing - so don't judge! :)
Are you super-duper techno savvy?
Whoa - no! My sister helps me with all things blog related and my husband is my personal IT support. I'm still known to "cut and paste" something on a document by printing it out and using scissors and glue!
