44 Summer Activities for Learning

Welcome to Summer!  I’m all about looking for opportunities for learning in the summer.  Here is a list of Summer Activities that encourage Learning.  It can be as easy as sorting shells at the beach to planning a meal to make for your family.  Learning can take place anywhere! If your kid is like most kids and needs some structure and routine in the summer, this list help.

Reading

  • Set a goal of 1000 pages (read to beginning readers)
  • Read anything! (comic books, video game manuals, graphic novels)
  • Listen to audio books
  • Family Poetry Night
  • Start a Book Club
  • Word List Challenge

Writing

Extra Suggestions: Work in what you’re already doing (vacation, travel, home repair, swim team, summer camps, library reading program, day trips, and museums).  There’s so much to learn when you’re just doing life!
