Our church surprised everyone with a church-wide service project instead of a regular service. We worked with other families to put together over 290,000 meals to feed 781 children in Nicaragua for a year! The sponsoring organizations were Stop Hunger Now and the Orphan Network. It was awesome! My boys felt so alive and confident when we left! They were amazed to see how one bag of rice, veggies, and vitamins can feed a child in need. Real problems with real solutions.
We can get wrapped up in our day-to-day lives and need to find ways for our children to give back. Actually doing it and modeling for/with your child speaks volumes.
